Sliding Closet Doors - A Perfect Choice for any Home
63Although not typically trumpeted as one of the prominent features of a house, interior doors, and sliding closet doors in particular, often add a subtle, yet transparent style to any home. Why, you might ask? To put it simply, the average home contains at least ten or more interior doors, of which (on average) 25% is a closet door of some variety. The point is this: interior doors, although somewhat unassuming, play a larger-than-thought-of role in the overall style of your home. So why not spruce them up, so to speak, with the latest in sliding closet door design? The rewards will be long-standing.
Outside of their role in adding a specific style to your home -- and since closet doors come in a variety of materials, frames, and functions -- the sliding closet door is an excellent provider of added space and utility to your home. The reason for this is is in how sliding closets work. Unlike traditional doors, or closet doors, a sliding closet door operates on a track with glides and rollers setting it in motion. The result is a door that opens horizontally rather than around a swinging axis; thereby giving you, the homeowner, more choices for interior decoration. Imagine not having to "save" space for the swing path of a door? With a sliding door system, you can.
Another great set of features that a sliding closet door system can bring to your home is the variety of frame styles, insert styles (either glass, paneled, or a combination of both) which are available. The number of frame styles alone, ranging from painted wood, to stained wood, and even to polished metal can only further accent any room or home. Add to these frame styles the option of adding a wide variety of glass features (such as beveled, opaque, pebbled, or even a mirror closet door) and then you truly have an amazing pallet of options to choose from.
So, even though you may have overlooked what a truly custom sliding door system can do for any room in your home, the truth is out: sliding door systems are an integral part of any interior home design, and when chosen properly, will truly deliver all the function and style you look for in an interior door selection: unique style, space-saving, and easy and quiet to operate. Go ahead. Make the switch to sliding doors today. You will be glad you did!

I love my new sliding closet doors in my bedroom, but why do they make a pinging noise during the night when not in use? The noise wakes me up & drives me bananas!

Sliding doors are great as far as saving space, but they can be really annoying when the tracks do not work properly. Nice Hub!
